Obituary

Mystic- Mr. William "Bill" Thompson, age 64, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021. He was born to Simeon and Olga Thompson on February 9, 1957 in Clarendon Jamaica. He migrated to the United States of America in 1984.
He was an elder at Heritage Tabernacle Church in New London, CT. Elder Thompson was a devoted and exemplary Christian, a true man of God.
Elder Thompson was a licensed master plumber and Engineer Lead in plumbing at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital (L&M). He worked at L&M for 20 years. He was also a successful entrepreneur and a pillar in his community.
He was a hard worker, had a love for action movies/shows and could be counted on at any time. Elder Thompson always had a smile, wise words, a warm hug, and unconditional love. Thus, he held a special place in the hearts of many. He was the friend you can tell anything, the protective brother, the proud encouraging father figure and just an all-around humble kind human being. He was known as Bill, but also affectionately known as Sweetson to close family and friends. He lived a life that was true to his nickname and then went above and beyond to be sweet husband, sweet brother, sweet uncle, sweet father, and sweet friend. He will be forever loved and forever missed.
Elder Thompson left behind his mother, Mrs. Olga Thompson; his wife, Lorna McRae-Thompson; two daughters, Lashawna and Shawnae; one son, Shawneil; two grandchildren, Oyediya and Ezekiel; eight sisters; three brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and a plethora of other relatives and friends.
Elder Thompson’s funeral will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Heritage Tabernacle, 18 Moore Avenue, New London at 10 O’clock. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 at the church.
