Edmund Cleary Obituary

Edmund T. Cleary 84 of Niantic passed away peacefully Thursday Morning January 28,2021 at his home.
He was Born in New London September 17,1936 the son of Edmund T. Cleary and Constance Garofola Cleary.
He Married Shirley Dahl Cleary February 15th 1958 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in New London. She survives him.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from University Of New Haven in 1994. And was elected a member of the Society of Naval Engineers July of 1997.
He served in the United States Air Force National Guard and spent 9 months in Germany during the Berlin Crisis and was retired having worked 43 years as a Ship's Manager at Electric Boat.
But retirement wasn’t for him, he took on working with his daughter Cathy and Son in-law David Morenski as Business Partner and Project Manager for Creative Design builders for Ten years. Then retired from that and went on to enjoy a job as a Bus driver for the East Lyme School System for 5 more years, then finally retired for good to spend the rest of his days at home.
He was a communicant of St Agnes Church in Niantic and a Member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by four sons, Edmund IV , Michael, John and Stephen ; and two daughters, Catherine Cleary and Amy Riggs . He has nine Grandchildren Sara, Rachelle, Ryan, Matthew, Nicholas, Christopher, Leah, Sean and Dylan ; and Six Great Grandchildren Amiya, Xavier, Elijah, Julianna, Jaylen and Layla
