Obituary

Niantic-David Yother, Jr., also known as D.J. Yother, a resident of Niantic, passed away unexpectedly at 41 years old on December 5, 2020.
He was born on August 16, 1979 to Dave and Donna Yother, D.J. was the youngest of three children and worked for the State of CT Corrections for 18 years. Being the baby of the family never slowed D.J. down, his love of life was electric.
His sense of humor was unparalleled; he could light up any room with his smile. You could always find D.J. on the water in the summer, splashing his family with a jet ski any chance he could get. However, once the fall came around he was parked in front of the TV with his New York Giants and UConn football gear ready to go. D.J. was a self-proclaimed super-fan and that title was well earned. He was constantly supporting the teams at tailgates and in the stands, and could always be heard cheering even if he was in the nosebleeds. His enjoyment for life and big heart were always open to his family and friends, but his devotion and love were reserved specifically for his daughter Caitlin. Caitlin was D.J.’s greatest love and the light of his life, which was obvious to anyone who saw the two of them together.
D.J. is survived by his daughter Caitlin, his parents Dave and Donna Yother, his siblings Diana Buscetto and Debbie Yother, as well as several aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces who absolutely adored him, and his beloved dog Eli.
