William Ryan, Jr.

New London- William V. Ryan, Jr., Age 86, of New London, died peacefully at his home on Sept. 16, 2020. He was a “Jolly Good Fellow” who loved his wife and children dearly.
He was born in New London June 23, 1934, the son of William and Angelus Costello Ryan. He was a graduate of the former Bulkeley High School in New London, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Colorado. Mr. Ryan served in the US Air Force, and retired from the United States Army with many honors and awards.. Following the Army, he was employed at the Submarine Base in Groton as a traffic manager.
He is survived by his wife Semra Kulusayin Ryan; daughters Mary Susan Ryan of Burlington, VT, Rose Clack of Waterford; son Lawrence Ryan of New London; three grandchildren, William Ryan, Noah Clack and Sean Clack. He was predeceased by a brother Lawrence Ryan and a sister Mary Ellen Ryan.
Services were held at the Miracle Temple Church in New London, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to New London Little League.
