Obituary

Skyler Harris Jenkins, 22, of Old Lyme, CT, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 6. Skyler was born on February 21, 1996 in Hartford, CT. A lifelong resident of Old Lyme, he graduated from Lyme-Old Lyme High school in 2015. Skyler practiced Jiu-Jitsu for several years excelling in competitions, appreciating the discipline and strength necessary to perform. His love for music inspired him to study music production; he used his talents to create original music that expressed his longing to help make the world a better place. Skyler loved animals, particularly his dog Josie who will miss him terribly.
His infectious smile and laugh will be sorely missed by his parents, Karen and Gregg Jenkins, his brother Cairo, his sister, Sierra and his girlfriend, Christine Wyatt. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Gary Gregory and Kathleen Harris of Old Lyme, and paternal grandparents, James and Carol Jenkins of East Haven, CT. Skyler will also be missed by several loving aunts and uncles, and a multitude of cousins.

A celebration of Skyler’s life will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Freedom from Fear www.freedomfromfear.org/

A quote from Skyler’s favorite book The Alchemist
“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.” - Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist.
