Obituary

Quaker Hill - Harvey Eastty, age 81, of Quaker Hill, died July 9, 2018, at his home. He was born in Boston, Mass., Nov. 27, 1936, the son of Thomas and Louise Way Eastty. He was predeceased by his siblings Richard Eastty and Ruth Griffin.

Harvey married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Blair, July 1984. She predeceased him on Sept. 6, 2017.

He is survived by a sister Joyce Cooper of Florida; seven children, Sheryl Davies (David) of Waterford, Blair Henry (Blythe) of New London, Dean Henry of Quaker Hill, Robin Amburn (Michael) of Waterford, Jennifer Henri (Michael) of Quaker Hill, Priscilla Ault of New London, and Christopher Henry (Llora) of Clinton; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Harvey served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1962. He was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft, from which he retired in September 1999.

He was a self-taught artist and musician. Harvey and Beverly shared a love of classical music and enjoyed attending many concerts together. Harvey loved watching sports, especially the UConn Women's basketball team.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. There will be a celebration of his life at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
