Obituary

Nancy Lynn Fagan, 59, of Stonington, passed away June 6, 2017 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London surrounded by her friends and family. She was born April 8, 1958 in Norwich, CT., the daughter of David and Edith (Marshall) Fox.

Nancy grew up in Norwich, CT and loved her jewish faith. She was an active member in the synagogue and Young Judaea. After graduating, Nancy moved to Boston to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She received her nursing degree from Beth Israel Deaconess.

Nancy lived in Connecticut and worked here throughout her life. She was a 30 year veteran of the nursing industry and was known for being a professional "job hopper". Nancy did everything as a nurse, but her passion was in psychiatric nursing. Her professional life carried into her personal life, as she was always looking to help anyone she could. She had a magnetic personality and was quick to make friends. Her best friends would describe her as "an incredible, smart woman who could do anything". The best parts of her day were waking up shortly after sunrise, making a cup of coffee, and having a long talk on the phone with a friend. Another one of her favorite activities was dreaming up inventions, one of which led to her appearing on QVC and selling her product..

Nancy loved to travel. She spent vacations in Greece, Puerto Rico, and destinations throughout the country meeting new people. She could spark of a conversation sitting next to a stranger on a plane and talk the whole flight. She was famous for telling her friends and family "you'll never guess who I just met".

Her number one priority in life was being a mother. Her kids were her absolute heart and soul. She dedicated her life to making sure her children were taken care of and raised with good values. Nancy remained strong throughout a five year battle with cancer, and on Monday night she left the world in a better place than she found it.

Nancy is survived by hers two sons, Michael Fagan and Brian Fagan, her mother Edith Fox and sister Ann Gimmartino.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, 10 AM at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic, CT. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Niantic. There are no calling hours.
