Obituary

New London- Debra L.Brouwer (Klinefelter) of New London passed away Thurs, April 27 in Groton, Connecticut surrounded by her loving family.

Debbie was born on April 20, 1967 in New London. The daughter of William Klinefelter, and the late Patricia Klinefelter. Debbie was a graduate of New London High School, Class of 1985. She was employed for 30 years for the State of Connecticut as a supervisor at D.D.S.

There are so many words you could use to describe Debbie. She was a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, friend and an Aunt. She was so much more than that, though. She was also a warrior, kind-hearted, the life of the party, sensitive, creative, hardworking, giving and strong.

Despite a hard fought battle with cancer for over eight years, she made a point to be present and take care of others. She never held back and was the first to show up to lend a hand or an ear should you need it. She lived for her boys. She did everything she could to be sure they were loved and provided for. The sun rose and set for her family.

Her home on Washington Drive in Groton, CT was a cornerstone. Anyone that crossed her threshold was welcomed as family. She had her Mother's talent for cooking but also just the ability to see the good in others. She was a giver... and the only thing bigger than her heart was the ability to make others know she truly cared. She leaves behind so many that were touched by her grace and her legacy.

She is survived by her husband Steven Brouwer whom she married on July 5, 2008. In addition to her husband, survivors include sons Nicholas and Brandon de la Cruz, step son Cody Brouwer, father William Klinefelter Sr. sister Kimberley Homiski and husband, Stephen, of Norwich and William Klinefelter Jr. and wife, Carol, of Oakdale. She also had many nieces and nephews
