Robert Prentice, 72 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021. He was born on September 29th, 1948 in New London the son of the late Winslow and Dorothy (Skipworth) Prentice.
He attended local Waterford Schools and was a U.S Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Robert worked at Jordan Cemetery for 54 years as the grounds keeper/superintendent.
He loved shooting skeet, fishing, and just hanging out with his buddies.
He spent a lot of time on the weekends with his daughter at the Lyme Tavern.
He was a member of the Niantic Sportsman Club and the Waterford V.F.W Club.
He is survived by his daughter Tina Prentice Mell and husband Steven of Lebanon; his son Robert Prentice Jr. of Groton; his brother and Sister in law Ronald and Linda Prentice of Maryland. He is also survived by Rebecca Stefanelli of East Lyme and Rachel Branch of Uncasville whom he loved as though they were his own daughters. He was very loved by his 5 grand children and 3 great grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his lifelong love Annaliesa Radomski and brother William “Bill” Prentice.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1st at 11 A.M in Fountain Hill Cemetery, 57 High St. Deep River, CT with full Military Honors.
