Waterford- It is with great sadness that the family of Rebecca A. Taber announces her passing following a brief illness.
Rebecca was born April 2, 1970 and peacefully passed surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. Rebecca was 50 years old.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Emily Roy, and son, Jacob Roy, both of whom she was immensely proud of.
Known as Becky to her parents, Paul and Nancy Taber of East Lyme, and her siblings, Michael (Inbal) of Lusby, MD, Lori (Shannon) of Groton, and Molly (Jon) of Waterford this includes nieces, Emma, Sophie and Elysse; nephews, Tucker and Lucas; cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Rebecca will be missed by her co-workers at Shoreline Family Practice in Waterford where she was a Medical Assistant. Always putting a smile on the patient’s face, Rebecca was loved by all.
During her illness, Rebecca took comfort in the saying “I feel the healing powers of the white light and I am drawn closer.” Her loved ones will remember her warm, easy smile, her soft laugh, and, above all, her love of life and Rob Thomas. She leaves a lasting impact on so many lifelong friends.
Rebecca's family welcomes donations to the Waterford Humane Society in Rebecca’s name as an expression of sympathy. They would also like to recognize the compassion and caring shown by L&M Hospital’s CCU staff where she received excellent care during her illness.
A Celebration of Rebecca’s Life will be planned for the springtime for family and friends as current conditions are not safe for family and friends to gather. Details will be shared as they are made.
Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Please visit www.neilanfuneralhome to leave the family an online condolence.
