Paul Manville

Oakdale- Paul Louis Manville, age 69, died on January 28, 2021. He was born to Arlene (Pachiodo) Manville (Staubley) and Louis Manville on March 4,1951, who predeceased him (as well as his beloved stepfather Richard “Rit” Staubley). He is survived by his wife Pamela (Denison) Manville, his daughters Sarah Manville and Carrie (Manville) Merfeld, and his favorite “bum”, granddaughter Stella Merfeld. He is also survived by his sister Cynthia (Manville) Kozaczensky and his brother John Manville.

In his prime, Paul was a fixer of all things. He was the owner of a few successful businesses, including Four Corners Motors in Salem where he forged countless relationships as a mechanic and a friend. He took great pride in his tools and used them to repair, renovate, and maintain his own things and those of his friends and family...and if you asked him, he ALWAYS knew EXACTLY where every tool was (except for when he didn’t).

He married Pam in 1973, and was an opinionated yet devoted husband for nearly 48 years. As a parent he spent a great portion of his life travelling as a sports dad. His most treasured role, however, was that of grandfather. Affectionately known as “Poop”, he doted on his only granddaughter, his pride and joy, and called on her often for “concerts.”

Paul was known for many things, especially his tall tales which will be greatly missed. Services will be private, but a celebration of life will be planned when it is safe to do so. In lieu of flowers, please consider telling your own tall tale in his honor and making a donation in his name to a local food pantry or the American Heart Association.

Services are private. Condolences may be shared on Paul’s memorial page at
