Obituary

Olga Pasqualini Lupien passed away at home on March 28, 2021. She was born in New London to Angelo and Palmira Broccardo Pasqualini. She was a 1946 graduate of Williams Memorial Institute in New London and a 1947 graduate of Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing in Hartford. She worked as a hairdresser for many years.
Olga married William Alan Lupien on August 27, 1949 at St. Joseph Church in New London. They had 60 wonderful, happy years of marriage until his passing. She is survived by her daughters and spouses Janis and Joseph Cabral, and Cathy Lupien and Glenn Colby; grandsons and spouse Steven Fargo, and Jeffrey Fargo and Meryl Goodman; and great-grandson Owen.
In 2019 Olga was honored as a “Golden Girl”, a “mover and a doer” who helped shape New London. She volunteered countless hours on the board of United Cerebral Palsy, Girl Scouts, The Thames Science Center, Hospice of SECT, Save Ocean Beach, Friends of Harkness, New London Main Street, and the annual Pre-Memorial Day Candlelight Vigil in New London. Above all, she felt her greatest contribution to her community was her door-to-door campaign resulting in school crossing guards for New London children.
Our mother’s passing has left a void which will never be filled but we know she is with her Bill now.
In Lieu of flowers, and in keeping with our mother’s legacy of putting others first, please do an act of kindness for an elderly person not as fortunate as she felt she was.
Janis and Cathy
