She was a graduate of New London High School in 1957 and went on to marry Richard Keefe in 1965. Together they raised their family in New London up until his death in 1985. Marilyn went to work at Groton Regency in 1986, retiring there in 2003.
A true family person to the end, she will be missed deeply by her family she leaves. "A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take"
