New London - Margaret "Peggy" McPartland, 55, of New London, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer.

Peggy was born in New London the daughter of John "Jack" McPartland of Chicago and the late Beryl (Sullivan) McPartland.

A graduate of Saint Bernard High School and Ridley-Lowell Business School, Peggy spent many happy days managing the Subway stores in Waterford and New London for her friends Les and Ester Marrell. Peggy enjoyed traveling with family and friends or just reading a good book.

She is survived by her sister, Maureen Pero and her husband, William, and their children, James and Jennifer; her local cousins, the Sullivans. Peggy's Chicago family includes, Mary Fitzgerald, Patrick and Margaret McPartland, Peter and Margie McPartland; along with numerous cousins. Peggy also leaves behind many of her friends at the Georgetown Condo's, especially her neighbor, Kathy Kanruff and special friends, Jazz Brissom and her daughter, Kylie Montague.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, with a funeral home service following at 6 p.m.
