New London- Louis Hochman, 91, of New London, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.
He was born in New London January 15, 1927, the son of Nathan and Esther Lemel Hochman. He graduated from the former Chapman Technical High School in New London. His family owned and operated Hochman Brothers Bakery on North Bank Street for many years.
He was a Supernumerary with the New London Police Department, and retired from the General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton where he was employed for 35 years as a Radcon Technician.
Mr. Hochman played in local basketball leagues including the Lincoln Oilers and also for EB. He was a member of the BPO Elks Club 360.
Mr. Hochman is survived by a son Robert of New London; two daughters, Lana Howard of Wilton, Ellen Ward of Clinton. He has five grandchildren: Will Howard, Jakob Ward, Haley Howard, Madden Ward, and Kira Howard. He was predeceased by three brothers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. Interment will be in Beth El Cemetery, Groton.
