September 27, 1948 - February 12, 2021
Born in Jamaica
Resided in Lehigh Acres, Florida

Grace Elaine Clarke (McKenzie), 72, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2021.
Grace was born on September 27, 1948, in Kingston, Jamaica to the late, Elseda Barrett. She moved to the United States in 1984 and settled in New London, CT. Grace worked at Connecticut College for 35 years until retirement in 2014, where she then relocated to Lehigh Acres, Florida.

Grace was an avid gardener and loved the UConn Huskies, especially the Lady Huskies Women's Basketball team. To know Grace is to love her, as she would be the first to sign up to cook for any function. She was known for her infectious smile and laugh that would light up a room. While she worked at Connecticut College, Grace was like a second mother to many of the students she encountered. She was an active member of Lehigh Seventh Day Adventist Church and was deeply loved by her church family.

Grace was predeceased by her mother, Elseda, and one brother Neville Edwards. She leaves behind to cherish wonderful memories, her husband Leroy and her five children; Dermot Bedasse of North Carolina, Gary Atkinson (Claudia) of Florida, Courtney Graceson, Natalie Price (Devon) of Connecticut, and Tyrone Cunningham (Jessica) of Florida. As proud as she was being a mother of five children, being a grandmother brought her so much joy. Her grandchildren; Tashai and Tamera Price, Ashanti, Atwon, and Jayda Bedasse, Kristina and Gary Akinston, and Quincy, Sebastian, and Vivian Graceson. Her siblings, Lloyd Waldron, Rudy Edwards, Garnett Henry and Annette Bryan, a special niece Delores Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Grace will surely be missed but will be forever in our hearts.

The family would like to send their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL for their care during Grace’s courageous battle.
