Obituary

Frank John Keating, 74, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on October 19, 1939, to Lawrence and Katherine Keating and was the beloved younger brother of Lawrence and Julie Keating. Frank graduated in 1956 from New London High School and enlisted in the Navy soon after. He served as a naval radio man for four years and enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world.
He worked for the Connecticut Department of Transportation on highway maintenance and retired after 30 successful years on the job.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, his brother Larry Keating, and his grandnephew Hayden Keating.
Frank is survived by his sister, his ten nieces and nephews from the Keating and Towne families; seventeen grand-nieces and nephews from the Keating, Towne, McGrath, Robbins, and Cadman families; and cousins from the Harvey and Pollard families.
All who had the pleasure of having him in their lives knew him to be a man of immense warmth, humor, and kindness. His nephews and nieces called him "Uncle Buck" because he was generous, and nothing made him happier than giving others joy. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

The funeral will assemble at 9:15 AM Tuesday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery will be private.
