Antonio Tony Iaconiello

Born in Forenza, Italy
Resided in Waterford, Connecticut

Antonio Iaconiello, 83, of Waterford Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 4, 2018, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Rachel (Bolduc) Iaconiello.
Tony was born June 28, 1934 in Forenza, Italy. He was the son of the late Giovanni and Arcangela Iaconiello, and has been a resident of Waterford, Connecticut for 17 years.
Besides his wife he leaves his daughter, Debra Delorimiere and her husband Joseph of Salem, his son, Antonio, and his wife Suzanne of Oakdale, and his two cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Iaconiello and Gabrielle Iaconiello. He also leaves his sisters, Antonietta Celli of Plymouth, and Carolina Miano (John) of Rocky Hill, and is predeceased by two sisters, Maria Scaraville and Adelina Bevilaqua, and his two brothers-in-law, Salvatore Scaraville and Mario Celli. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and his little buddy Nelli, and granddog, Jackie (aka Blue Tongue).
Tony was employed by Dufford Drilling in Glastonbury as a water well driller. In 1964, he went into business for himself as the owner/operator of Tony’s Well Drilling. With a love for fishing and golf, he retired to Waterford in 2002 and turned over the business to the capable hands of his son. Tony took on a passion for playing golf later in life, taught himself how to play, and excelled at it. He also enjoyed fishing at Mago Point with his family and friends, and working in his garden and garage.
Tony was a devoted husband and father who spent his time working and living so his wife and children could have a good and secure life. He was fiercely loyal to his family, lighting up with a big smile whenever he saw or heard from them. He loved his country and would gravitate to anything with the United States Flag on it. Tony had a love for life that taught us all to be strong and keep fighting.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday February 10, 2018 from 11 to 1 at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home 48 Grand Street Niantic, followed by a celebration of Tony’s life at 1 O’clock.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Southeastern, CT or Visiting Nurses of Southeastern CT. The Iaconiello family would like to thank the help of the VNA, Hospice, and our neighbors who watched over us.
