Cremation…a personal choice
Cremation services include several choices and options for personalization and memorialization.
- Traditional Cremation Service- Traditional visitation
(with open or closed casket), and services at the funeral
home or alternate location, such as a church, with the
cremation following.
- Visitation
Family and friends gather to pay their respects, express their condolences and lend their support. The casket may be displayed open or closed.
- Memorial Service/Gathering- This service, gathering or memorial
reception can be a simplified version of a traditional service
or it may be personally designed by the family to meet their
specific needs. It may be held at the funeral home, or a location
of your choice. The casket is not present, but an urn may be present along
with photographs and other memorabilia.
- Graveside Service- This is a service of remembrance held at the
graveside or columbarium in the cemetery as the cremated remains
are interred.
- Direct Cremation- cremation with no services.
Final Disposition Options
- Burial On A Family Plot- Many families choosing cremation opt for having the cremated remains buried on a family plot.
- Keeping the Urn at Home- Keeping the cremated remains of a loved one at home is a personal choice. A variety of cremation urns are available for this purpose.
- Placement in a Columbarium Urn Niche - Allows for above ground entombment.
- Scattering- Some families may choose to scatter the remains over a special area at land or sea. Specially designed environmentally friendly biodegradable urns are available to assist with the scattering.
